Game Over! Letter Grades are IN
Check your letter grade via UTDirect.
I bent as far as I could for many of you. Some will be pleasantly
surprised and others will unfortunately be disappointed. Oh well. Over all,
there isn't really a big change in the traditional break down on grades. This
new book really hasn't decreased the number of A's, B's, etc...
Oh yeah,
I ASSIGNED all the grades WITHOUT really reading any emails,
therefore whether you
emailed me or not had no bearing on your final letter grade. Remember, I
assign grades based on your SCORES, not on how desparately you need a
particular grade. NOW, I WILL go read
those emails. Hope there are some nice ones in there...
Happy Holidays! See MANY of you next semester in CH302!
SWEEEEET!
Final exam class average was a 76! Sweet! Usually no curve on this, BUT, I'll
tack on ONE more point because ALL students got their UTEID and version
numbers right! So the curve on the final exam is 1. I'll be working on grades
over the weekend.
All the curves and grade breaks are given in the
"Calculating your Grade" link in the margin.
I've already got emails from students who have "calculated" their grade. Somehow
many of those grades are MUCH higher than they should be. Make sure you
apply the proper percentages to each of the 3 categories (homework, exams,
and final). BTW, no student ever gets bumped up a grade just because they
email me some desparate plea for a grade. You do NOT need to plead for a
higher grade - I'll assume all students want the highest grade possible.
